Lynn Erdman, RN, MN, OCNS, Board Chair 2010-11
Lynn Erdman is Senior Vice President for the South Atlantic Division of the American Cancer Society (ACS). Lynn was also VP of Women’s and Cancer Services at CMC-NorthEast and has worked in the specialty of oncology nursing and hospital administration for over 25 years. She was the founding Director of the Presbyterian Cancer Center in Charlotte, NC. Lynn is a national speaker with over 750 lectures in the US and abroad. She has published articles and book chapters on oncology and customer service. Lynn serves as a Governor’s appointee and Chair of the NC Advisory Committee on Cancer Coordination and Control. She is on the Board of Visitors at Peace College and the Board of Directors for Charlotte Rescue Mission.
Janet T. Fortner, MSW, Past-Chair
Janet Fortner is the retired President and CEO of Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region. Under her 25-year leadership, the organization grew from serving 15 patients a day to providing comprehensive hospice care, palliative medicine and education daily to over 900 patients and families, reaching over 22,000 individuals a year. Janet has a long history of volunteer community leadership. She has served as president of Leadership Charlotte, president of Women Executives, chair of the Mecklenburg County HIV/AIDS Task Force, chair of the Carolinas Center for Hospice and End-of-Life Care, and chair of the Hospice Provider Network. Janet chairs the Advisory Board for the College of Health and Human Services at UNCC, the Mecklenburg End-of-Life Care Coalition and the NC Public Policy Committee for The Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care. Janet is a Senior Fellow in the American Leadership Forum and received The Charlotte Business Journal’s Women in Business Achievement Award.
AnjaWorkman, Director
Since 2006, Anja Workman has been the Editor of All About Seniors, a resource directory for older adults, caregivers and area healthcare professionals which she developed. Distributed to 1,500+ sites, she ensures effective collaboration with various agencies including Centralina Area Agency on Aging and Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. Prior to 2006, Anja was Director of Development for the Alzheimer’s Association Western Carolinas Chapter, Regional Marketing Director for the American Retirement Community and Regional Director of Community Relations for Sunrise Senior Living Communities. Anja currently serves on the Board of Directors for the CharlotteMecklenburg Council on Aging, the Executive Board of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Aging Coalition and is Co-Chair for the Community Resource Connection.
Paul C. Schmidt – Director
Paul Schmidt is the Managing Director of Naviscent Group, (I don’t think he’s with this company anymore?)a business consulting and financial advisory services firm. He has over thirty years of experience in hands-on financial, operational and strategic leadership roles. He has served as CFO for companies in the retail, construction, distribution, software, non-profit, and manufacturing industries ranging in size from pre-revenue public micro-caps to closely held $200 million middle-market companies.
Glenn Grossman, Director
Glenn Grossman is a product designer within the consumer bank transformation and product design team at Bank of America. Glenn brings over ten years of new product development and service design skills to The Ivey. In addition, Mr. Grossman founded Tutela, an online solution to provide secure communication between senior care providers and families. Glenn previously led product development for a unit of Ticketmaster and provided consulting services in the area of technology for various service firms. Mr. Grossman has an MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business and M.Ed. and B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
