Kathryn Wilkinson
Prior to joining The Ivey family, Kathryn developed enduring relationships with patients of the South Park dental office she managed. A graduate of the UNC-Asheville, Kathryn began a 14-year advertising career specializing in media planning and market research. From there she combined her marketing skills and love for animals, serving as general manager for Charlotte's first indoor pet boarding facility. Helping people, making connections, and a love of learning transformed into her desire to make a difference in the world of senior care and brain health.
Where were you born and where did you grow up? I was born in Rocky Mount, NC where I lived until going to college.
Favorite way to spend a weekend or a Sunday afternoon? Hiking and discovering new adventures with my son Thomas and our dog, Rust. When not off exploring, I am either engrossed in a DYI project or reading, often devouring two to three books at a time.
What excites you about your work at The Ivey and the contribution you make here? First and foremost, The Ivey’s reputation for quality and compassionate respite care! Because of my mother’s battle with dementia, I developed an ardent desire to learn as much as I could about this progressive disease to help those either living with or caring for someone with this ever-challenging condition. Joining The Ivey not only gives me the opportunity to care for others, but also the environment to learn and share preventative lifestyle changes. In this amazing place, we can provide the ultimate care for our members, peace of mind for their families, and the opportunity to learn about more brain health, I am truly blessed to be a part of The Ivey.
